Home Builders Care Foundation

Last summer, Home Builders Care Foundation and Home Builders Association of F-M members helped build a Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity home. The home went to a single mother with two children. This family has suffered from domestic violence and health challenges and looks forward to stability the home will provide.

Read more about the build and the family's story on the community projects page.

What is Home Builders Care?

Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead Foundation is the charitable arm of the Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead. The Foundation is dedicated to showing that home builders care about the community by awarding scholarships to local students interested in the construction trades and working on projects that support housing in the area.

One of Home Builders Care Foundation's biggest projects to date is the RENEW House. Home Builders Care Foundation purchased the 100-year-old home in 2007 and collaborated with the Remodelers Council of the Home Builders Association to remodel and update the home. The project helped revitalize a neighborhood and the house was sold to a young family. See the Community Projects page for more details and a list of companies who made the project possible, as well as other projects Home Builders Care Foundation has been involved with.

Each fall, Home Builders Care Foundation awards scholarships to students studying construction at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Minnesota State University Moorhead, North Dakota State College of Science and North Dakota State University. Scholarships are also awarded to area high school students who plan on attending M State or NDSCS and studying a construction-related field. Scholarship applications will be available soon. You can check out last year’s application on the Trades for Grades/Scholarships page until new applications are available.
