Remodelers Council Wheelchair Ramp Projects

The Remodelers Council Ramp Project is an ongoing program sponsored by the HBA of F-M Remodelers Council. The program’s goal is to provide accessibility ramps for the elderly or disabled in order for them to remain in their homes. It is designed for people who don’t have the capacity to do the work themselves or can’t afford to hire a contractor. The Remodelers Council provides volunteers from the HBA membership who will build ramps at no cost to the homeowner. If you have accessibility needs and would like to be considered for a ramp project, please contact Jennifer McKinney at (701) 232-5846 or jennifer@hbafm.com.

Extensive projects cannot be considered due to limited funds and volunteers. The Remodelers Council Ramp Project Committee will determine which homes meet eligibility requirements. The property should be located within city limits. If the home needs major repairs, or is not structurally sound, the homeowner will be referred to the appropriate agency or program. Selected homeowners will be notified by mail or phone.

Remodelers Council helps fund Freedom By Design group project

The HBA of F-M's Remodelers Council donated funds toward the construction of a wheelchair accessibility ramp for Fargo resident Corky Titus. Remodelers Council member John Gunkelman, Dakota Construction of Fargo, Inc., teamed up with architecture students from North Dakota State University’s Freedom By Design group to construct the ramp and deck. Remodelers Council members Crane Johnson Lumber Company and Opp Construction also contributed materials to the project.
