HBA members ramp it up for Fargo family

May 13, 2021 - Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead’s Remodelers Council members built a handicap-accessible ramp for Fargo resident Barbara Sather May 13. They volunteered their time to assist in building the permanent ramp, helping Sather to access her home as she deals with the effects of an extended cancer battle. Project materials were funded by Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation.

Kent Sather, Barbara’s husband, says,

“First of all, being the recipient of this type of community support is humbling. When we deal with increasing health issues it’s reassuring to know we have the support of people we don’t know to get through and make it easier to do the day-to-day normal things, like getting out of the house! I want to directly thank the HBA and what members do for our community!”

He also emphasized appreciation for Freedom Resource Center, whose mission is to provide services that increase independence for people with disabilities, for providing a temporary ramp.

Those who assisted in the project include

Tyler Guhlke and John Gunkelman, Dakota Construction of Fargo, Inc.;

 Dustin Murray, Dustin Murray Construction;

Trevor Odden, Stone Ridge Builders, Inc.; and

Steven Schall, Wood Specialists, Inc.
