Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead Foundation is the charitable arm of the Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead. The Foundation is dedicated to showing that home builders care about the community by awarding scholarships to local students interested in the construction trades and working on projects that support housing in the area.
Over the past 25 years, Home Builders Care has worked hard to promote the incredible generosity of HBA of F-M members. Here are just a few accomplishments:
Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead Foundation provides a positive outlet for the housing industry to give back to the community, building a framework for the future. Looking forward to the next 25 years, workforce development will be a major focus of the Foundation.
High school students work with industry professionals in specialized fields and are supervised by qualified high school instructors during the Herdina Academy for the Construction Trades. Students who successfully complete the Academy will earn three college credits from Minnesota State Community and Technical College. Cost to attend is only $25. It is typically held the first two weeks of June each year.
The Health, Tech & Trades Career Expo is designed to help ninth graders explore different careers and education opportunities. The focus is two-year or technical degree career opportunities. The Expo supports industries that will continue to need qualified, skilled workers in the future.
